Zsuzsa Sallai MTV Networks Emerging Markets Senior Talent and Music Manager

sazsu_200She's a shooting star for sure. Zsuzsa started at MTV Hungary in 2008 as local talent and music manager. Then she was promoted to senior TAM manager for Emerging Markets (that includes India, Africa, Israel, Turkey, Russia and almost all the Eastern European countries). 'Lots to do', says Zsuzsa with a smile. 'I love my job, so I don't mind that I have to work almost 24/7.' Now, she is also overseeing MTV, VH1 European and MTVNHD music teams' and programmers' work.

She has a good taste in music. Her old school favorite was Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones and everything that Daniel Miller worked for at the legendary Mute Records. Nowdays, she is mainly listening to music of the 60's, 70's and minimal electronica. She stands for the local music as well, 'It's one of my dreams to help a Hungarian band to catch the big time fame'.

She started to play piano when she was 4. 'I think, it all started in that moment of my life' admits Zsuzsa. She used to work as a newsreader and editor for a local radio called Juventus. Then she became part of producing radio shows and made interviews with many well renowned musicians. At the radio she was promoted to a musical editor then music director.

After Juventus she joined EMI as a marketing and PR manager. Later Zsuzsa was at the launch of CLS Records, an independent record company that still exists.

After few years in the record industry she decided to move on. She moved to London so she could learn and experience more. In London she had to start everything from the scratch, first she was a secretary. She has tried many different jobs from office worker to head receptionist of a top posh restaurant. One of her dreams was to work for Starbucks. She applied for a role and worked for Starbucks as a retail marketing specialist (focusing mainly on licensing business). At the end of her London years she worked for one of SBUX's agencies as an account manager. The reason she decided to move back to Hungary was MTV Networks' job offer.

Zsuzsa still has got lot of dreams and goals. Once, she'd like to write a book and wants to help handicapped kids with special music therapy. We hope that she will bring light to these kids, being the real shooting star that she is.
