Óriás - Egyikben ott - Expensive video or simply a good idea?
May 10, 2010 | Video of the month

Nowadays - after the withdrawal of the major labels from the Hungarian market - one question is circulating in almost every musician's mind: 'How are we gonna make expensive videos? Who's gonna support it?'

One of the answers to these kind of questions would be Óriás's new video 'Egyikben ott'. Check it out:

In the video we see through the eyes of a dog. We can watch Óriás's one day as a dog. Funny idea and it was easy to shoot. The idea itself sells the video and band, too.
Basically, in the last 2 years Music TV is not playing music videos at prime time anymore, so bands should find other ways to promote their music and their videos. One of these other ways is to make cheap viral videos that become popular through the process of Internet sharing, typically through video sharing websites and email. This video is a good example for that.

Óriás (their name means 'giant', by the way) is fun to watch and read. If you are tired of receiving band newsletters, you will have to change your mind reading theirs. The message is the same as usually (concerts here, video shooting there, etc.) but you still feel the need to read all their funny thoughts about the everyday life of a rock band. And this is surely the Óriás message: thinking deeply (their lyrics are not at all easy), but not taking yourself too seriously... and still creating something good and appealing, even if it's a low budget video.

So, check out their music videos and hope that one day they will sing in English, too.
