June 21, 2010 | Album of the month

fabianjuli_webHoney and Chili. No, it's not a new style of Chinese food. It's the title of the new LP from the black-voiced, impulsive, blue-eyed, blond jazz sensation, Juli Fabian and her band, Jazz Riff. Juli Fabian Jazz Riff was formed in the summer of 2008. This is the talented singer's first formation. After she graduated from the Jazz Faculty of Hungarian Music Academy she appeared in such internationally well-known formations as Just In Time, Eric Sumo Band, Barabás Lőrinc Eklektric and many more. She was finalist at the Jazz Voice Competition of Montreux in 2008 and 2009!

With highly skilled musicians coming from different genres finally joining forces, Jazz Riff found its own unique voice and style.
"It's like having a baby," Juli says "the only difference is that it has just one mom and four daddies. The record will be released in Japan, too. I'm so excited" says the beautiful singer.

The other band members are Péter Sárik (winner of two awards of the International Songwriting Competition in 2009), Fodo (has 2 platinum and 2 gold albums in Hungary), Ákos Csejtey (founder of the Budapest Jazz Orchestra, formerly an arranger of Disney Studio) and Péter Papesch.

The group is a formation of singer, keyboard, bass, saxophone and percussion. The outstanding musical personalities were immediately catching the attention of Hungarian and international music lovers. The group plays an active role in Hungarian club life. They appeared in European capitals such as Brussels, Vienna and Ljubljana and have been invited to a number of festivals home and abroad.
